THEY SERVE US.

Now we can return the favor.

For retired military and police K-9s and post-traumatic stress service dogs, the burden and cost of care fall solely on their caregivers. Recognizing this critical need, Zoetis created
the K-9 Courage Program.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The K-9 Courage Program is a charitable healthcare donation program that provides financial and in-kind product donations that support retired police and military K-9s as well as service dogs currently in action. Program contributions help assure caregivers that these courageous and loyal dogs continue to live happy and healthy lives.

Each caregiver receives a $300 debit card yearly to use on anything at their veterinary clinic, including medical expenses, vaccines, medication... even dog food or treats.

If you are the owner of a retired military or police dog or an active service dog, we encourage you to place your name on our waiting list. As openings become available, they will be offered to qualified K-9s on a first-come, first-served basis. To join our waiting list, click the button below.

Explosives detection is very stressful work for the dogs and handlers. My dogs were my babies, we lived, ate and slept together for more than a year. After what you go through with your dogs in the service and then what you have to do to adopt them afterwards, it would be terrible to have to say goodbye to your partner because you couldn’t afford to take care of him.

Blaze was my first police dog; he means the world to me.  I knew that Blaze would always protect me, we were partners. We ask a lot of these dogs and once they retire, their healthcare is up to the handler. A program like this is phenomenal because it helps the dogs who did so much to help and protect people.
